On the 26th July 2024 two very courageous volunteers from Rolls Royce have generously offered to run from Derby to Skegness in 24 hours to raise funds so that we can take our most disadvantaged young children
on holiday to Butlins, Skegness in August 2024. These are young people that have lost their parents (some have lost both) or have experienced major trauma and are subject to care proceedings. One special young boy hoping to come on holiday with us is 8 year old Joseph. He has recently had a double lung transplant at Great Ormonde St Hospital. He takes over 30 separate drugs every day so his little body will not reject the transplant he has received. He also has to have several more operations this year. He’s a very brave little boy that has never been to the seaside and is desperate to experience the sea air, fly his kite and play football. Like all the children we hope to take with us, Joseph and his siblings are super excited about putting their feet in the sand.
We are sure we can all recall a fun family holiday. All of those that we would like to take to Butlins have never been on holiday. They are entirely dependent on Revive to experience something many children take for granted.
